The undersigned is directed to inform him/her all Primary and Secondary Schools named after/ associated with Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar will be illuminated on 26.09.2019, the auspicious birthday of Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar.

He/ She is requested to communicate this to the Heads of all such institutions under his/ her Jurisdiction for proper implementation of this programme.

As per the instruction of the Commissioner of School Education, West Bengal, I am directed to request you to send the pictures of various programmes conducted at different Primary and High Schools in connection with Celebration of 200th Birth Anniversary of Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar from 20.09.2019 to 26.09.2019. You are requested to send on a daily basis some selected pictures which should have high resolution through the mail of given mail id iswarchandravidyasagar200@gmail.com. All sorts of co-operation is requested.

Guidelines for Celebration of Vidyasagar Week

1. Vidyasagar Week will be celebrated in all Government, Non-Government Sponsored Schools of the State from September 20th to September 26th of 2019.

2. In all Government, Non-Government, aided and Government Sponsored schools, Essay competition, cultural functions, Exhibition of Photography on Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar and seminar will be organised. All these Programmes will be organised at School level only.

3. A Circle Level Committee for the celebration of Vidyasagar week in all the Primary and Secondary schools (Government, Non-Government aided and Government Sponsored) in each circle may be constituted within 15.06.2019 in the following manner.

A. Sub-Inspector of Schools - Convenor

B. A nominee of DI/s (SE)- Member

C. All the heads of the Institutions (Primary and Secondary)- Members

4. Regarding essay competition (প্রবন্ধ প্রতিযোগিতা) students may be divided into 03 groups

Group-A Class III to IV

Group-B Class V to VIII

Group-A Class IX to XII

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders (অবস্থানধারীরা) will be bestowed suitable prizes. The word limit and time for writing the essay may be decided by the Circle Level Committee. The Topic of Essay Competition may be chosen from 1. Childhood of Vidyasagar, 2. Life and Works of Vidyasagar, 3. Women Education and Vidyasagar, 4. Vidyasagar as a Social Reformar, 5. Conribution of Vidyasagar to Bengali Language and Literature.

5. Regarding cultural function, the Circle Level Committee will decide plan of action ensuring participation of existing students, ex-students and other local artists. In this programme recitation, Music, Dance, Drama, Quiz and debate on the life of Vidyasagar may be contemplated.

6. Regarding Exhibition of Photography on the life and activity of Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar, the Cirecle Level Committee may co-ordinate with local officers of Information and Cultural Affairs Department and other reputed NGOs.

7. Regarding Seminer the Circle Level Committee may invite educationists as speakers and panelists.

8. A Pravat Feri (Morning Procession) on 26th September, 2019 ie on the Birthday of Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar which all the students and teachers of the school will be arranged. The School authority (কর্তৃপক্ষ) may invite people from all sections of society.

9. An amount of Rs. 2000/- (Two thousand only) per Primary School (প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়) and Rs, 3000/- (Three thousand only ) per Secondary School will be sanctioned. In addition, convening meeting with Head of the Institutions and others Rs. 3000/- (Three thousand only ) per circle and to monitor and supervise the Programme at school levels, Rs. 2000/- (Two thousand only) for hiring 02 (Two) vehicles @ Rs.1000/- (One thousand only) will be sanctioned. The total amount for Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and Circle offices will be placed in the account of CLRC.
