Communication to combat spread of Novel Coronavirus COVID-19
Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 Bulletin, class suspension up to 15th April 2020, this has been decided by the Hon'ble Chief Minister, West Bengal, however, the Board Examination will be held as per schedule

In continuation to this office (অফিস) earlier communication vide No. 86-SSE/20 dated 14.03.2020 and No.87-SSE/20 dated 15.03.2020 on the subject, it has been decided (স্থির করা) by the Hon'ble Chief Minister, West Bengal that the restriction imposed vide said communication is now being extended up to 15th. April,2020, in public interest.
2. Administrative department of schools, Head of the institute including emergency services e.g. electricity (বিদ্যৎ), cleanliness, water supply, security etc. may remain open as per local (স্থানীয়) need to be decided by the head of respective institute.
3. Hostel will also remain closed till 15th. April, 2020 though, adequate arrangements as per the medical (মেডিক্যাল) protocol will be made by the respective institute for the foreign students who are not able to leave the campus due to distance (দূরত্ব) or otherwise, No visitor should be allowed during the period to visit the hostel, without prior approval of the Head of the institute.

WHO has declared the recent Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 epidemic affecting 125 countries & territories as International Public Health Emergency of International Concern. In this context, Government of West Bengal has strengthened the surveillance (নজরদারি) and control measures against the disease. As on today (আজ) total 74978 travelers / persons have been screened (স্ক্রিন) at Kolkata & Bagdogra Airport and 280362 persons have been screened at seven Land Barder Check Points along Nepal and Bangladesh. Also 3989 crew members (সদস্য) of ships have been screened in three Ports. Till date 12244 travelers from Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 affected countries have been identified and placed under surveillance. For 248 of them the surveillance (নজরদারি) period has been over. Eighteen are admitted in isolation facility on date. Rest 11978 are under home surveillance. Till date 70 samples have been sent to National Institute of Virology (NIV) Pune, ICMR-NICED, Kolkata and IPGMER, Kolkata for test of Novel Coronavirus COVID-19. Results of 69 samples are negative. One sample has come positive. The health (স্বাস্থ্য) condition of all the persons under surveillance is stable. A 24X7 control room (কন্ট্রোলরুম) is operating in the State Head Quarter. Isolation (আলাদা) facilities with total 163 beds have been arranged in the following hospitals across the State: ID & BG Hospital, Kolkata North Bengal MCH, RG Kar MCH, NRS MCH, IPGMER, Kolkata, Calcutta (কলকাতা) Medical College, Calcutta National Medical College, COM & Sagar Datta Hospital, Dr. BC Roy PGIPS, COM & JNM Hospital, Imambara (ইমামবাড়া) DH & Arambag SDH, Hooghly, Howrah DH & Satyabala ID Hospital, Howrah, Basirhat DH, Diamond Harbour GMCH, Kakdwip SDH, Medinipur MCH, Rampurhat GMCH, Bankura Sammilani MCH, Purulia GMCH, Malda (মালদা) MCH, Murshidabad MCH, Raiganj GMCH, Coochbehar GMCH and Alipurduar DH.
In the background of the present Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak, the general public is advised to adhere to health advisories issued by the State Government . All the guidelines for health and hygiene (স্বাস্থ্যবিধি) are posted on www.wbhealth, gov.in. People at large should follow the cough etiquette by covering the nose and mouth using handkerchief/ towel while sneezing coughing ad do frequent hand -washing with soap and water. Those who have arrived from the Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 affected countries should remain under home isolation for 28 days from the date of arrival in India, even if they do not have any symptoms. They should contact the Help Line no given below in case they develop fever with with cough or difficulty of breathing during this period.

** Two hundred and forty eight (248) persons have completed the surveillance period. Hence 12226 persons are under home surveillance (নজরদারি) as on date.
* One male (পুরুষ) aged 18 years who had returned from UK on 15th March has tested positive today. He is kept in isolation.
