Fake Universities List 2020 in Country

University Grants Commission (UGC) has published a 24 Fake Universities List 2020 in India through Public Notice vide F No. 7-3/2012 (AMPC) dated 07.10.2020. Fake Universities are not empowered to confer (প্রদান করা) any degree.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956 under Section 22(1) provides that a degree can be awarded, only by a University established under a Central, State/ Provincial Act or an Institution deemed to be university (বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) under section 3 of the UGC Act or an institution especially empowered by an Act of Parliament to confer the degree.

Further, Section 23 of the University Grants Commission Act prohibits the use of word "University" by any institutions other than a university established as stated above.

Students and public at large are hereby informed that at presently following 24 Self-styled, unrecognized institutions are functioning in contravention of the University Grants Commission Act, which have been declared as Fake Universities (ভুয়ো বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) and these are not empowered to confer any degree:
