Revision of Material Cost (earlier known as cooking cost) @ 9.6% with effect from 1st October 2022 during 2022-2023 under PM POSHAN Scheme

Sir/Madam,
I am directed to inform that it has been decided with the approval of the competent authority to increase the Material Cost (earlier known as cooking cost) by 9.6% over and above the existing cooking cost under PM POSHAN Scheme with effect from 1st October, 2022 for the year 2022-2023. The Material cost will be shared between the Central and State as per the approved funding pattern of 90: 10 for North Eastern Region (NER) State and 2 Himalayan States & Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir, 100% for Union Territories without legislature and 60:40 for Other States as well as 2 Union Territories with Legislature (Delhi and Puducherry). The revised rates of Material cost (খরচ) admissible (গ্রহণযোগ্য) with effect from 1st October 2022 during 2022-2023 for Bal Vatika, Primary and Upper-primary Classes would be as under-

2. The above Materiel Cost rates indicate the minimum mandatory contribution by the State Governments/Union Territories Administrations. However, States/Union Territories may contribute more than their prescribed share, as some States/Union Territories had been contributing more than their minimum mandatory share from their own resources for providing meals with augmented nutrition under PM POSHAN Scheme.

3. You are requested to disseminate the above increase in the Material Cost to all concerned and the field functionaries up to school/cooking agency level to ensure prompt implementation of the revised Material Cost with effect from 1st October 2022.

4. This issues with the concurrence of the Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure vide O.M No. 13(02)/PFC-II/2021 dated 27th September 2022.

I am directed to inform that the rate of Cooking Cost per child per school day (PCPD) as provided by the Central Government and State Government (under 60:40) has been revised with effect from 1st October, 2022, in the following manner-

In this connection, it may be sated that the quantity of rice for Primary schools PCPD (প্রতি শিশু à¦ª্রতি দিন) is 100 gms. and that for Upper-primary and STC schools is 150 gms.

This may be circulate to all concerned including schools.
