As directed, the Heads of all recognised Schools under WBBSE (West Bengal Board of Secondary Education) are being information that all schools must follow the following schedule of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Summative Evaluations for the academic session 2024 and Selection Test for Madhymik Pariksha (Secondary Education) 2025. Each and every school must prepare the question papers of their own and mention the name of the Institution at the top of the Question Paper. Head of the Institutions of all the schools recognised by WBBSE are earnestly requested to mandatorily adhere to the division of syllabi, distribution of marks and model structure of sample question given in the website while framing the Summative question papers for class VI (Six) to class X (Ten). The Summative question paper should be formulated keeping the expected learning outcomes in mind. The evaluation process should thus be a tool to measure to what extent the expected learning outcome has been achieved. The evaluations for class VI (Six) to class X (Ten) will be on the entire syllabus.

Schedule of Summative Evaluation/ Selection Test for M.P (S.E) from class VI-X
Name of the Evaluation Class Schedule 1st Summative Evaluation VI to X
will be held not before 1st April 2024 and to be completed within 9th April 2024 2nd Summative Evaluation VI to X will be held not before 1st August 2024 and to be completed within 8th August 2024 3rd Summative Evaluation VI to X will be held not before 28th November 2024 and to be completed within 10th December 2024 3rd Summative Evaluation or Selection Test for M.P. (S.E.) 2025 X will be held not before 21st November 2024 and to be completed within 30th November 2024
Compliance to the aforesaid policy of the WBBSE is binding upon all schools.
N.B: No Summative Evaluation for class VI-X Selection Test for Madhyamik Pariksha (S.E) shall be scheduled on Sectional Holidays.

........................................Assignment of Class Teacher or Subject Teacher for ECA
1. Head of the Institutions (HOI) /School user can assign any Assistant Teacher as Class Teacher or Subject Teacher for respective Medium, Class, Section and Subject for CCE Marks Entry (Evaluation wise)2. Head of the Institutions (HOI)/School user may also enter CCE Marks for irrespective of any Medium/ Class/ Section/ Subject.3. Any teacher may enter CCE Marks only if assignment accordingly.4. Class Teacher may enter marks for all subjects in respect of a particular Class/Section.5. If Subject teacher option is applicable, the concerned Subject Teacher will only be able to submit marks for the specific Subject for the specific Medium/Class/Section.
Formative Evaluation
1. Class and Subject wise Formative marks entry is mandatory
2. Concerned teacher would be allowed to enter marks for the next evaluation, if previous evaluation related marks entry is completed.
3. Subject Teacher would be able to enter marks for respective assigned class, section and subjects.
4. Class Teacher would be able to enter marks for all subjects for the respective assigned class and sections.
Summative Evaluation
1. Only after completion the Formative marks entry, any teacher can proceed for Summative evaluation related marks entry.
2. Only after completion of marks entry in respect of the previous evaluation, any teacher can proceed for the next Evaluation (for all subjects).
3. Class Teacher would be able to enter marks for all subjects for the respective assigned class and sections.
CCE Marks Entry through Bulk (Excel) Upload
It is informed that the provision for CCE marks entry in respect of the academic year 2024 is available in SMS Portal. All concerned may be informed to complete the marks entry process for Formative and Summative Evaluation-I.
1. Head of the Institutions (HOI), School and Class Teacher are only allowed to Export and upload the CCE marks at bulk through Excel files.
2. If the school has multiple third languages for classes VII and VIII, for any student one of those languages will be assigned for marks entry & the other third languages will have “-2” in marks entry boxes in Excel.
3. If the school has multiple optional or elective subjects for classes IX and X, for any student one of those subjects will be assigned for marks entry and the other optional or elective subjects will have “-2” in marks entry boxes in Excel.
4. For summative marks entry through Excel, at first by default all students will be set as absent & their marks in the sheet will be set as “-1”.
5. Excel File may be named with alpha-numeric characters (use only 0-9, A-Z, a-z )........................................

Assignment of Class Teacher or Subject Teacher for ECA
1. Head of the Institutions (HOI) /School user can assign any Assistant Teacher as Class Teacher or Subject Teacher for respective Medium, Class, Section and Subject for CCE Marks Entry (Evaluation wise)
